Thermogravimetric Analyzers: Precision, Efficiency, and Innovation
Our thermogravimetric analyzers (TGAs) offer state-of-the-art technology for precise weight measurement during thermal analysis, tailored to the needs of laboratories in a wide range of industries. These systems monitor variation of sample mass across temperature and time, providing accurate and reproducible data across a wide range of applications. With a maximum temperature of 1000°C, our TGAs allow users to configure every parameter of the analysis process, including temperature set points, ramp rates, and the type of gas used—air, oxygen, or nitrogen—for each step or slope.
Precision Weighing and Seamless Sample Handling in Our Advanced Furnace System
At the core of our design is a precision digital balance with 0.1 mg sensitivity, located directly beneath the furnace. This balance ensures unmatched accuracy during the analysis process. A robust carousel, capable of holding up to 48 crucibles with our patented dual-carousel system, rotates within the furnace chamber to present each sample to the balance pedestal. The carousel is engineered to rise before rotating and lower each crucible onto the balance pedestal for weighing. This mechanism ensures seamless sample handling and precise measurements at every step of the process.
Enhanced Productivity and Efficiency with Our Innovative TGA Design
Our TGAs incorporate innovative features that enhance productivity and efficiency, setting them apart from conventional systems. One such feature is the optional external balance, which records initial sample weights during the analysis without requiring the furnace to cool to room temperature. This capability eliminates a significant bottleneck in traditional TGAs, where the furnace must cool completely before new samples can be prepared and weighed. Instead, our TGAs allow the furnace to cool to 70–80°C, enabling faster batch transitions and minimizing downtime. This innovation enhances laboratory throughput and optimizes workflow, making our TGAs an invaluable tool for high-demand environments.
Automated Crucible Cover Handling for Precise Volatile Matter Analysis
For volatile matter determination in coal and coke, our TGAs offer an optional auto crucible-covers placement and removal system. This feature automates the process of placing and removing crucible covers during analysis, ensuring consistency and precision while reducing manual intervention. The system is particularly useful for workflows requiring sequential moisture, volatile matter, and ash determinations.
Unmatched Flexibility and Efficiency in Thermogravimetric Analysis
With the ability to configure parameters for each analysis step—such as temperature, ramp rate, gas type, and criteria for determining step completion (stable sample weight or time)—our TGAs offer unparalleled flexibility. Whether you are analyzing a small batch of 11 samples or maximizing capacity with 48 crucibles, our TGAs are designed to adapt to your needs while maintaining precision and reliability.
The inclusion of the optional external balance provides another layer of efficiency, allowing you to prepare the next batch of samples while the current batch is still in progress. This feature not only increases productivity but also ensures that initial sample weights are accurately recorded without interference from the furnace’s heat. By eliminating unnecessary delays and maximizing operational efficiency, our TGAs deliver a superior solution for laboratories that prioritize performance and precision.

Whether for routine testing or advanced applications, they offer the tools necessary to achieve consistent, accurate, and efficient results, making them the optimal choice for laboratories seeking to optimize their processes.
Procedure for TGA Analysis
The TGA system supports two workflows: a fully automated procedure and a manual alternative using an external balance. Below are the steps for each workflow.
Automated Procedure
- Select the Analysis Method: Choose from pre-configured software methods with user-defined parameters, such as temperature, gas type, and result criteria, for each analysis step or slope.
- Start the Weighing Procedure: Optionally, sample data can be imported automatically from a text or CSV file, and empty crucibles placed on the carousel for automatic weighing.
- Add Samples: Place samples into the crucibles and enter sample identification codes and other data using the keyboard if they were not previously imported. Identification codes can also be imported manually, one by one.
- Automatic Re-weighing: Samples are re-weighed automatically with the furnace lid closed, eliminating the need for user intervention and enhancing precision.
- Optionally Weigh Crucible Covers: The upper carousel is optionally lowered automatically to weigh crucible covers for volatile matter determination in coal or coke.
- Begin Analysis: The TGA system automates workflows like alternating between carousels or handling crucible covers for specific procedures.
- Export Results: Export data in multiple formats or print reports as needed.
Manual Procedure with External Balance
- Weighing: Use the external balance to weigh crucibles, samples, and optionally covers during analysis.
- Furnace Cooling: After cooling the furnace to 70°C or 80°C, manually transfer samples to the carousel.
- Start Analysis: Begin the analysis immediately, saving time by skipping the initial weighing and minimizing cooling time
- Export Results: Export or print results in various formats for reporting.
